I'm Albert — an underwriter and deal-maker based in Nairobi, working across the intersections most people avoid: sovereign risk, agricultural supply chains, and the ventures that actually feed a continent.
Since 2006 I've underwritten political and credit risk for banks, DFIs, and exporters across Africa at ATIDI — the kind of deals that move grain, fertilizer, power, and dollars when ordinary insurance markets won't look at the map. Before that, five years as an Economist at the Central Bank of Tanzania, where I designed the country's SME Credit Guarantee Scheme. I sit on the board of the International Trade and Forfaiting Association (ITFA). In parallel, I build: Muleba Coffee and a ranching venture in Kagera.
Finance, to me, is only interesting when it touches something real.
